Santa Claus
The dogs weren't too sure of having Mrs. and Mr. Sadnta over to the house, but thankfully they realized it was Deon's parents and were good sports about it, after a little bit. Here is Stormy, she was trying to take Santa's glove off.
Here she is posing, (kind of). Notice her belly, she loves her potatoes.
Sarge tried to escape at the beginning, but he didn't get too far, because as you can see in the next picture, Mrs. Santa got a grip on him.
I have to admit that these pups are our babies. I think these dogs have little people in them. Everybody that I talk to that owns one, says the same thing. I know, I am insane!!

The Holiday Season
What ever happened to Christmas?
It seems that people are too caught up in what they want for Christmas, and all the "retail" sales that are going on, instead of the true meaning of Christmas. I had a customer come through my line yesterday that was a Catholic priest and he took a minute and told me about a little boy in his Church. I guess this little boy and his family are pretty poor and he wasn't sure what their Christmas morning was going to be like, because his Dad got laid off from work a few months ago. Well, the Priest was very moved with how honest the boy was that he told them that the Church could help them out. (In Utah, they have the Catholic services too) I guess that the little boy told him that he didn't want anything but wanted to make sure his younger brother and sister got something cause he didn't want them to hate Santa. The priest was at Sam's Club buying a doll, a truck, coats, etc for this family and it really made me think. I was just about crying at work. But what a great thing for this little boy to think of his younger siblings over himself. How many kids would do that nowadays? I know that this priest wasn't just telling me a story, cause I have seen him help others right in our store. But it sure made me think.
I remember several Christmases when we didn't have much, and Mom sure made them great anyways. I still have a little purple dog that she crocheted for me when I was in the 5th grade. She used to make so many cool things for us and make Christmas awesome. Remember the Christmas ornaments that she used to make out of everything from styrofoam and plastic (with animals in it) to pictures on cds. She used to glue them onto the shiny side of the cd and hang them up.
So as you are all out there running in circles to find the newest video games, cds, toys, coats, etc. Think of those who may not have as much and see if you can donate something to them. I know that we don't have much this year, but I always give money to the Marines so they can use it for the Toys for Tots program. Plus, as you walk by that Bell RInger in front of the store...drop in a handful of change...every little bit helps.
I know I am sounding like I am preaching, but I am not, it's just my opinion but after talking to that Priest and hearing about that family, it just made me think a little more about the true meaning of Christmas.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, and I love and miss you all.

How to start a riot
If you would like to know how to start a riot at Sam's Club....just find a pallet of salsa that you will not be carrying that brand anymore and put it on sale a few days before Thanksgiving. We found a pallet of this "On the Border" salsa in the shelving and realized that it was not going to be carried here anymore and it was only 41 cents a bottle now. So...put the pallet up front of the store with large signs on it showing the sale price and watch it fly out the door. Literally!!! We had people buying up to 30 bottles at a time. It was amazing!!!! And yes....I grabbed 4 bottles of it and looked at the display 15 minutes later and all 250 bottles were GONE!!!
Don't ya love a GREAT deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahahahahahahaaaaa

Hunter Safety again
Well.....just so you all know. I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah...I passed the written test and only missed 1, yes 1 question out of 50. So...now it is official, I can put in for the draw next January and hopefully get the chance to go out and shoot a deer next year. I do have my small games license, but I don't know if there is anything in the small game aspect that I will want to shoot at. But enough of that thought....
I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter Safety
Okay, I am not sure if everybody knows, but I am taking hunter safety classes and only have one more day left. I had to do my qualifications for shooting on the range on Saturday and did alright. I passed, but it is hard to do well when you are not shooting your own gun. The only thing left that I have to do is taking the written test on Wednesday. Let's all cross our fingers and pray that I can pass it. I have to have 37 out of 50 answers right to pass. UGHHHHH!!!
I will have to post and let you all know.

Pampered Chef
I had an open house tonight for Pampered Chef, and it was so much fun!! I got to spend some fun time with family, friends, and neighbors. It was awesome!! I think that having the opportunity to spend the evening with such a group of people is wonderful, and needs to happen more often. My house was pretty full!! And the best part, my dogs were fine with all the people that were in and out all night. What a fun night!!

Now this Halloween costume will scare you!!!
Yes...it is Deon dressed as a hooker. The boots he has on are those high heel "hooker" boots (that's what we call them). And he is wearing a bra stuffed with thermals socks. Ain't he sexy!?!?!?!! He won second place at their halloween party at work.
Here he is with his pimp (sherry). SHe is who we bought our dogs from.
Here he is with the joker, his really good friend Elmer.
And this is the other hooker. There was a couple more guys dressed as girls, but I didn't get their pictures.
Hope this didn't scare you too much.
Happy Halloween!!!
Be safe out there Trick or Treating!!

More pics from our backyard
Okay, here are a few more pics from our backyard. I love this picture of Deon and Stormy.
This isn't the greatest picture but I wanted a picture with Sarge
Another family picture.
Both dogs decided after awhile that they both needed me to hold them. They are definitely mommy's babies. Doesn't Deon look like he is having fun!!

Halloween Deco
Deon is enjoying setting up for Halloween, here he is putting spider web on a tombstone.
This is the front porch
Creepy guy as you enter the front porch area
The front yard. Unfortunately the wind keeps blowing and breaking the black guy's pole, so Deon has the figure out how else to keep him upright.
Happy Halloween!!!

First Snow
Well, it is October 12th and we got our first snow storm. They were predicting at least 2-6 inches on the valley floor, but thankfully, that didn't happen. But then again, it still can.
Here is our apple tree covered in snow, and yes, there are still apples on the tree.
this is the other corner of our yard covered in snow. I am definitely not ready for the snow.
This is the big pine tree in the middle of the fence line. It looks pretty, but I hate snow.
This is Sarge's first encounter with the snow, and I am not sure if he is a fan of it either. Stormy has already been through one winter, and she liked playing in the snow. I am not so sure that Sarge will enjoy it as much, but he does like licking it. Hahahaha
apple tree
Our apple tree is growing out of control, so Deon decided that we needed to start trimming it back. Plus, it's the easiest way to pick the apples off the highest branch...LOL!! So here goes Lumberjack Deon into the tree. This time though, I made him use a ladder, instead of falling out of the tree like last time. It's a long story...hahahahaaa!!!
There he is, showing off his skills!! He thought I was video taping him for America's Funniest home videos.

fall has arrived
We decided on Sunday to go for a drive to see the fall colors, and what a show we saw. We started our drive up American Fork Canyon where the colors are spectacular.
This is just one of the hillsides that we came acrossed
This is the canyon road that we took. We had to stop and let the dogs take a pee break and bark at the motorcyclist.
From American Fork Canyon, you go through the Alpine Loop, passed Sundance (Robert Redford's town) and to the Provo Canyon, which was just as spectacular. This was taken at Vivian Park in Provo Canyon.
It was really nice to get out and see the colors. I am hoping to be able to go drive the Nebo Loop this year, which is also supposed to be gorgeous. I love all the color changes of this time of year, but DREAD the fact that winter and snow are next.

1 Year
It has been one year today, since Mom passed away. They say it gets easier with time, but I am not sure how true that is. I think of her everyday and the things we used to do as kids. It's funny the little things that brings you a reminder. Like, we went with Suzi to go and pick up their new TV and it was at the Best Buy on 2100 south and 700 east, which used to be a Fred Meyers, and my Mom worked in the craft department there. Or when I took the kids to City Creek Canyon to take their pictures, and remembered taking walks up there, especially as kids and Penny and I took off our shoes and played in the water.
I guess it is the memories that ease the pain a bit, but what I wouldn't give to hug her right now, or even argue with her...lol. I love my mom with all my heart, and miss her more than I could ever have imagined. It's sad that we have to lose our loved ones, but I guess we can keep their memories alive in our hearts forever.
I love and miss you MOM.

Happy Birthday Babe!!
I know I am doing this a day early, but that is okay. I just want you to know how much I love you and how happy I am that we are best friends, and spouses. You mean the world to me and I want you to know that. We don't get to spend much time together, because of my crazy work schedule, but I do cherish every minute, and second that we do see each other. You are an amazing person, and an awesome husband!! You deserve to have a great birthday!!
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!
I love you so much.

Bug and Boo
Sarge has his appointment today to be neutered and it was so sad taking him to the vet's office. I had to do it with Stormy too and that was harder. It's sad to hand them over and walk away. He will be fine though. Brookside is a great vet clinic. They do keep them over night so we will see how much sleep I get tonight, but I get to pick him up at 10 am tomorrow.
It's really sad because Stormy is wandering around the house and outside looking for her baby brother. THese two dogs hit it off so well and are constant companions so this is driving her crazy too, which makes it even harder for me to see her sad.
But like I said, he will be fine and Karma is a great doctor. I trust no other vet other than her.
Can you tell I love my babies???? LOL

9-20-08
We had a neighborhood bbq tonight, and of course, we had some rain. I took this picture of the rainbow over our house. I thought it was pretty cool looking, so I thought I would share it with you all.
It was really fun to have a neighborhood bbq and hope that everybody gets to have one and get to meet all their neighbors like we did. It's comforting to know that they all will be watching out for us and us for them.
I hope their is always a rainbow in your lives!!!

New pics of our babies
The kids..chillin' in the kitchen!!
Growing up to be such a cute boy!! (4 months)
Sarge...attacking the camera....NO MORE PICS MOM!!!
( I love this pic)
BooBoo is sooo beautiful!! Can you see why they stole my heart??
Yes, even princesses get tired of having their pictures taken. LOL!!
Deon keeps saying that we will never get another vacation, but we will....if it a pet friendly one. I love my babies, and don't like to be away from them for long periods of time. I know I am insane, but you all know me and know I am an animal lover. hehehee!!!
(a crazy animal lover)

West Desert
I have never been a fan of the west desert until Deon, Gordon, and I went out there in search of deer. We went out to a little town called Aragonite (there's only one building out there) so it's really little...this is a picture looking south over the desert.
We saw a couple deer but they were too far away. This is a male and female antelope that we saw towards the evening. She was really skinny. We also saw a lot of little bunnies out there running around and a badger (yuck!)
For a little history, look up Hastings Cutoff...it is part of the route that the pioneers took to go to California. There is a bunk house and barn out in Aragonite that is fallen down, but still cool.
And just another one of my misc. tree pictures.
